I am renting a vacation villa in another country. The owner, who is an American and resides in CA, asked for a money order. I don't feel comfortable just sending a money order without some kind of paper trail. is this a common practice with vacation rentals to avoid taxes and fees?|||For drug dealers it is|||It is a common practice, but you can resolve the problem by contacting a vacation rental agency and then you'll have a receipt from your deposit.
