My family and I need a place to stay for a week.|||like think said www.vrbo.com is your best bet... works well for traveling to other parts of our world as well. With 4-5 star hotel prices, it's not hard to find a very large, well-furnished home wherever your destination might be.
personally, the hotels downtown are fun but the river is really lame|||how bout googling "san antonio" & "vacation rentals". i have a hunch it may just be what you're looking for
oh all right i did it for you
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22鈥?/a>|||You don't say what your budget is so let me try a few answers. Motel 6 has a night rate of $43 that would be $215 plus for 5 days. There is also several Stafford Inns they have week rates. I am led to believe that either of those do not require a long term reservation. Here is a url that might give you all that you need;
sanantonio.corporatehousing.com
don't let the name put you off thinking that they can't help you, they say that they can.|||I assume you are renting a car or driving.
It depends on what you want to spend and and what you want to do,. Downtown is fun for adults, but kids get over it in a couple of days. My kids like water, and it's hot.
If you are going with your family, forget the motel/hotel thing and try vrbo.com. It's a vacation rental service run by people who own homes in resort areas and rent them out. If you have young kids, it's great to have a kitchen.
If you want a family oriented resort, try the Westin Canterra (next to Fiesta Six Flags) or the Hill Country Hyatt (next to Sea World. Both have terrific swimming pools and golf course, and are within 25 minutes of downtown. Another choice would be to rent a place in New Bruanfels (45 minutes away) and let the kids spend a day or two floating down the Comal River or going to the Schlitterbahn,
If none of these appeal to you, try the Marriott River Walk, the Airport Embassy Suites or the Havana Bed and Breakfast.
