We rented a house for four days. The house was spotless when we arrived. Of course it was not cleaned in the time we were there. Should I tip the cleaning staff?|||aren't u already paying for cleaning after u depart?|||Depends if it was meant to be cleaned , while u were in there.

If they failed you , on that note. Then they should not get a tip.

But if it was clean, when u arrived. And there was no expectation for them to clean it while u were there. You should leave a tip, for them having to clean up your filth so to speak.
Generally, just leaving some change/coins on one of the table,, signifies a tip.

Adding whayt u leave, and whatever somebody in one of the other vacational rentals leave, it adds up to a bit , and keeps the maid happy.|||You can if it makes you feel better. I never understood the idea of paying somebody extra for doing the job that they are already getting paid for. I understand waiters and waitresses are underpaid on purpose and the tips equate into their actual pay but everybody else is on their own. But do as you feel best.|||yes|||Sure, it would make their day.|||Yes. I would leave $20.|||yes i would it never hurts to help :D

Has anyone every heard of this group/company before? They will only take cashiers checks or money orders - I am concerned.|||Only absolute only way I would do this is in person. It may or may not be a scam but doing it in person is the only way to know for sure.
It still may be a scam even when you see the place and meet someone in the office but you will have an instinct that will take over and I would listen to it.
No way to know in this forum or even a website if the offer is on the up and up.
Hope youve seen the property as that again is something I would never do unless I saw it.
Be very careful in this endeavor - you are wide open to disappointment.|||Sounds a bit of a stretch that they don't accept major credit cards. I haven't heard of them, but there must be someone else in that business that would be safer to deal with. I think I would check the ads in the Orange County Register. I have heard that many of these vacation homes in Ensenada are listed there.

  • No vacation rentals, I will be working in Manzanillo at the resort the Tesoro. So the rent needs to be reasonable for someone working as a part of the entertainment department, and close enough to the resort 10 15 minutes away. Shared accomadations would be alright to. Just need a bedroom with a bathroom|||I would try GoManzanillo web site listed below (I hope) but even that is tourist oriented. Mexico works on word of mouth and you'll do much better talking to people in person. Santiago is close and maybe your best bet for an inexpensive apartment. When you first arrive try Hotel Maria Christina in DT Santiago for about $20us and maybe cheaper by the week or month. They have a nice pool.|||Hotel Colonial, Manzanillo - $23 per night - http://www.tripadvisor.com

We are new to this part of USA. Can somebody recommend a good vacation rental (or a place) for 2/3 families in Northern Virgina for a week in early December?
We are trying to spend around $1000-$1500 for a weekly rental. and should be around 3-4 hours drive from Delaware. Also should have some activities nearby in Winter like sking, sight seeing etc.|||If you want 3-4 hours from Delaware, you are talking about Northern Virginia. This area is rich in history, and you are close to D.C. and it's museums, all of which are free. An hour's drive west from Northern Virginia, and you are talking about Skyline Drive. It's hard to know what you'd prefer....and everything I found in the Va. mountains that would be large enough is over $2000 a week. I would stick with the D.C. area....there's a lot to do for both children and adults. Here's the link for the Northern Virginia craigslist, which lists everything available for rent. Keep checking in and you're sure to find something.

We rented a little condo for a week and it required a 500$ security deposit. the manager said she mailed it and we haven';t received it. tried to contact her again ,no answer. Almost has been a month since time of rental. What is the next recourse?

TIA|||It is completely dependent on what state you are in. In a lot of states, a deposit must be returned within 30 days of move-out. For this to work out in court, you must also have given your next address to which the deposit should be mailed (usually the law on this is 7 days after move-out). If you gave notice of your next address and it is past 30 days, you can sue for up to double the deposit (keep in mind these are laws I know in Michigan).

The only slight problem I might see is that you rented a place for a week. I don't know if laws apply to anything this short-term. Also, did you sign a lease? If you did not sign a lease, this may harm you in court. However, some states let you have a oral/verbal agreement for rental. If they accepted your payment, this is a loose agreement of rent.

If you want your money back and still have not had any luck contacting the manager, then file a small claims case (use free legal advice in your county is a good idea). Make sure you have all documentation of the money exchanged, phone calls made and the condition of the condo when you moved in/out. If you sue, you have the burden of proof as the plaintiff and need to prove why they owe you money. So everything you can think of related to why you should get your $500 back is relevant in the case. Good luck and don't forget to use free legal advice, it helped me to win my case :)

St Martin Villa rentals have been the fastest growing and most popular segment of the travel industry over the past few years as experienced travelers uncover the dramatic benefits of renting a luxury home away from home. Well located villas that are professionally managed by elite teams. The d茅cor, layout and design of a villa are only part and parcel of a vacation experience.
